Step 7
Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.
This blog was set up to post each day's Daily Reflection from the A.A. book Daily Reflections, a beloved resource for me throughout my recovery. The only editing is with respect to gender inclusion, e.g. "her" instead of "him", "Creator" instead of "God" etc. The 2nd goal is to be a resource for Women in Recovery from alcoholism or other addictions.

Tradition 7
Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.
Camel
The camel each day goes twice to her knees. She picks up her load with the greatest of ease. She walks through the day with her head held high. And stays for that day, completely dry.
7th Step Prayer
My Creator, I am now willing that you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you now remove from me every single defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me the strength, as I go out from here, to do your bidding. Amen.

STEP 10
How It Works
This thought brings us to Step Ten, which suggests we continue to take personal inventory and continue to set right any new mistakes as we go along. We vigorously commenced this way of living as we cleaned up the past. We have entered the world of the Spirit. Our next function is to grow in understanding and effectiveness. This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for our lifetime. Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up, we ask God at once to remove them. We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we can help. Love and tolerance of others is our code.

Dear God,
Please heal what needs to be healed,
Please reveal what needs to be revealed.
Please lead me where you need me,
and speak to me in ways I cannot possibly misunderstand.

3rd Step Prayer
