Daily Reflections-September 14
PEACE OF MIND
Do we lay the matter before our sponsor or spiritual adviser, earnestly asking God's help and guidance - meanwhile resolving to do the right thing when it becomes clear, cost what it may?
TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, pp. 86-87
My belief in a Higher Power is an essential part of my work on Step Nine; forgiveness, timing, and right motives are the other ingredients. My willingness to do the Step is a growing experience that opens the door for new and honest relationships with the people I have harmed. My responsible action brings me closer to the spiritual principles of the program - love and service. Peace of mind, serenity, and a stronger faith are sure to follow.

I'm not sure why, but I've had mixed feelings lately about typing these Daily Reflections every day. ... undecided about whether I'll continue this ...
ReplyDeleteThis month, however, I've been working on making amends to myself. Early this month a woman shared about making amends to yourself in Step Nine. At first I wondered about how to go about this. Then it came to me to approach it like any other amend I was having trouble with - to ask God for direction and willingness. Duh! I wonder about the "coincidence" (no coincidences, right?!) that I decided to type this today. I realized I hadn't been reading the Daily Reflections everyday, because of my mixed feelings about typing it out every day. Anyway, today's reading begins with Peace of Mind - and direction on how to go about an amends! It also talks about the spiritual principles of love and service. At once I thought about whether this blog posting of Daily Reflections is a service to anyone since I don't think anyone else reads this blog. Then I remembered it might be an act of love and service to myself even if nobody else does read it!! Hmmmmm.
Good reading today.
